23. STORY TELLING

We are living in the age of communication. Storytelling is one of the key functions of communication. Storytelling is something that helps to communicate and deliver the right content effectively. Storytelling is part of the cultural set up in an organization. Storytelling is all about external communication. Storytelling consists of three parts, first is setup, second is conflict and the third is the resolution. A story starts with setup, then there is a conflict in the middle and it ends with a resolution. The strength of storytelling lies in imagination.


As a storyteller our job is to persuade and create an impact, our job is not to express. Storytelling must be persuasive. In storytelling, beauty is not in creating the story; it’s in finding the story. our content must be effective and impactful for storytelling.


Following are some necessary factors for storytelling-


Story must be credible, it should always be action-driven. Our story must be different or in some way. Visuals are one of the most important parts of storytelling. Our story must be visualizable. It should be conflict-driven because conflict is one of the important parts of the story. Conflict in the story will help to create intrigue, which will help us to make our story more interesting. A story must be contextual always.
