2. TWEET CHAT

Updated: Dec 12, 2019

It’s been more than a week at SCoRe and I am loving the kind of exposure SCoRe is providing us. Every other day SCoRe comes with a new session and new learning. On Friday, we had a session on ‘Tweet Chat’ by Ancita Satija. The term tweet chat was new for me. I was curious to know and learn the concept behind this term. Ancita Satija enlightened us with the term tweet chat.

So, today I am going to write some points that I learnt from Ancita Satija about tweet chat. What is tweet chat? Tweet chat is a virtual chat where group of people meet to discuss a certain topic. Various people from different corners of the world can meet at the same platform and can have a meaningful and useful discussion on a certain topic. People can share their thoughts and ideas. Through this we come across different perspectives of different people on similar topic, which I personally found very interesting. We can learn a lot and gain awareness about a specific topic from different people.

During the session I also learnt a very interesting thing, i.e. “if you don’t ask, then the answer is always no”. So keep on asking and sharing your ideas and thoughts with others. Share your knowledge with others because people are always willing to learn different things from different people and a tweet chat gives you this opportunity. You can share your ideas, you can ask other people to share their thoughts and ideas and can learn from them. This also gives you the opportunity to grow your professional circle.

Some points that should be kept in mind while creating a tweet chat are as follows.

1. Designated hash tag is used for the chat.

2. Host of the tweet chat posts the questions and encourage the interaction.

3. Tweet chat takes place at the same time every week/month/year.

4. Before starting a tweet chat you must research and attend different tweet chats.

5. Understand what people are talking, and find interesting topic.

6. Figure out the topics you would like to cover in your chat.

7. Find relevant guests. Find experts who might be right for the specific topic.

8. Pitch your ideas to guest.

9. Promote your guests few days prior to the chat.

Through tweet chats you promote yourself and also you promote a specific topic or sector. Success of the tweet chat can be measured by calculating number of people who participated in your chat, the kind of reach you generated and the impressions you received during the chat.
